Opportunities and Challenges for Taiwan's Diplomacy in the New Era

In an era of rapidly shifting global dynamics, how can Taiwan solidify its role in the international community? With regional tensions rising and global supply chains being restructured, how should Taiwan adjust its diplomatic strategies?

Tsinghua Academy is honored to invite Ambassador François Chihchung Wu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs, to provide an in-depth discussion on Taiwan’s Opportunities and Challenges in Diplomacy in the New Era.

Deputy Minister Wu has extensive diplomatic and academic experience, having served as Taiwan’s Representative to France, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and as a member of multiple municipal international affairs committees. He has played a crucial role in fostering Taiwan’s relations with European nations and strengthening Taiwan’s position within the global democratic alliance and supply chain. As a seasoned scholar, he has held visiting positions at Harvard University and Sciences Po Lyon and served as a professor at Soochow University, specializing in Central and Eastern European studies. His academic background provides a strong theoretical foundation for Taiwan’s diplomatic strategies.

How can Taiwan navigate global challenges and expand its international presence? How can it strengthen its partnerships within the democratic community? This lecture will offer valuable insights and a comprehensive analysis of Taiwan’s diplomatic future.
